Std.10 English-U(III)-Ch(2) - The Danger of a Single Story by Mahmud K.

Dear teachers and students,
The lesson The Danger of a Single Story in X standard English textbook is a speech by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, a young and highly popular Nigerian writer. The speech was presented at an official TED conference in July 2009.

"Our lives, our cultures, are composed of many overlapping stories. Novelist Chimamanda Adichie tells the story of how she found her authentic cultural voice — and warns that if we hear only a single story about another person or country, we risk a critical misunderstanding". (Recorded at TEDGlobal, July 2009, Oxford, UK.)

The audio file of the speech is attached herewith and the video is available here: https://www.ted.com/talks/chimamanda_adichie_the_danger_of_a_single_story

Students can enjoy it going through the text simultaneously with the real voice of its authoress.

Thanks and regards,

Mahmud K
