അടുത്ത വർഷത്തേയ്ക്കൊരു കരുതൽ - Updated

        Educational Blogs (Kerala Syllabus, by the way there aren't any such blogs for CBSE) and teachers usually give more importance to SSLC students than other classes. We got many emails this year requesting materials for classes up to 9. Unfortunately there were not much prepared from them except the Onam-Christmas Question Banks of SCERT and those grammar/language items in the Resource page of this blog. Though many had been requested none prepared anything.

        It is quite clear that we should have enough materials for the lower classes as well. As the first step we are collecting the Question Papers of Annual Exams 2013. Some questions are already in the repertoire. Others are coloured green in the class wise list below. Let us work together and make it complete.... It would be good if the scanned papers are of the same type and size. The guidelines published in Maths Blog for it is given below. Hope it will be useful.

ഉബുണ്ടുവില്‍ Scan ചെയ്യേണ്ട വിധം

     ഉബുണ്ടുവില്‍ Applications-Graphics-Simple Scan എന്ന സോഫ്റ്റ് വെയര്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് സ്കാന്‍ ചെയ്തു നോക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ടോ? Simple Scanന്റെ Menu വില്‍ Document-Scanല്‍ Photo എന്നതു മാറ്റി Text ആക്കി സ്കാന്‍ ചെയ്താല്‍ ടെക്സ്റ്റ് മാത്രമേ സ്കാന്‍ ചെയ്യപ്പെടൂ. Preferences ല്‍ text Resolution dpi 300 pixels മതിയാകും. സ്കാനറില്‍ ഒരു പേജ് വെച്ച് Scan ബട്ടണ്‍ അമര്‍ത്തുക. തുടര്‍ന്നുള്ള പേജുകള്‍ക്കും ഇതേ ക്രമം ആവര്‍ത്തിക്കുക. Save ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ എല്ലാ പേജുകളും കൂടി ഒരു പി.ഡി.എഫ് ഫയലായാകും ഔട്ട് പുട്ട് ലഭിക്കുക. ആറ് പേജുണ്ടെങ്കില്‍ പോലും പരമാവധി 150kb യേ ഫയല്‍ സൈസ് ഉണ്ടാകൂ. വളരെ വേഗത്തില്‍ സ്കാനിങ്ങ് നടക്കും.സ്കാന്‍ ചെയ്യുമ്പോള്‍ അനാവശ്യമായി കാണപ്പെടുന്ന പേജിന്റെ മടക്കലുകള്‍ Text മോഡില്‍ കാണുകയില്ല. വെളുത്ത നിറത്തിലായിരിക്കും ബാക് ഗ്രൗണ്ട് കാണപ്പെടുക. ഇനി ചോദ്യപേപ്പറുകള്‍ സ്കാന്‍ ചെയ്തോളൂ. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്, മലയാളം മീഡിയം ചോദ്യപേപ്പറുകളാണ് വേണ്ടത്. ക്ലാസ് വിഷയം എന്നിവയെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയ ഫയൽ നെയിം നല്കാൻ മറക്കരുതേ...

ങാഹാ ഇന്ന് പരീഷയാന്നല്ലേ , എന്നാ ഇതൊന്നു വായിച്ചും വെച്ചേച്ചു പോ പിള്ളേരെ...

ഞങ്ങടെ കാലത്ത് പത്താം ക്ലാസ് എത്തുന്നതൊക്കെ കണക്കാ... അയിനും മുന്നേ പിടിച്ചു കെട്ടിച്ചു വിടും. നിങ്ങക്കൊക്കെ എന്നാ ഭാഗ്യവാ... പഷേ ഇപ്പളത്തെ പിള്ളേര്‍ക്ക് പേടി കൂടുതലാ... ഓ ഒന്നും പേടിക്കണ്ട കാര്യമില്ലന്നേ... നിങ്ങളോടിപ്പം ഒന്നാം ക്ലാസിലെ പരീഷ എഴുതാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞാ പേടിയൊണ്ടോ ? കൊറേക്കാലം കഴിയുമ്പോ ഇതും അത് പോലൊക്കെ തന്നെയേ കാണ്വോള്ളന്നേ... അതോണ്ടു പേടിക്കാണ്ട് പോയി എഴുതിനെടാ മക്കളെ ... പിന്നെ താഴെ കാണുന്നത് കൂടി വേണേ വായിച്ചേരെ... 

 പരീക്ഷക്ക്‌ മുമ്പ്

1. ആവശ്യത്തിനു തയാറെടുപ്പുകള്‍ നടത്തുക. എല്ലാ വിഷയങ്ങളുടെയും പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍, നോട് ബുക്കുകള്‍ ,ഇന്‍സ്ട്രമെന്റ് ബോക്സ് അങ്ങനെ ഉള്ളവയെല്ലാം തയ്യാറാക്കുക. ശ്രദ്ധ തിരിക്കുന്ന തരത്തിലുള്ളവയൊന്നും ബോക്സിലോ റൈറ്റ് പാഡിലോ ഇല്ല എന്നുറപ്പാക്കുക.

2. സമയത്ത് സ്കൂളില്‍ എത്തുവാന്‍ ശ്രമിക്കുക. ഹോള്‍ ടിക്കറ്റ്‌ പോലുള്ള അവശ്യ സാമഗ്രഹികള്‍ മറക്കാതെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക.

3. ഹോളിലേയ്ക്കു കയറുന്നത്തിനു തൊട്ടു മുമ്പ് റ്റെന്‍ഷന്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കാവുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ കഴിവതും ഒഴിവാക്കുക. മനസ്സിനെ ശാന്തമാക്കി വെയ്ക്കുക.

പരീക്ഷാ ഹോളില്‍

1. ഹോളിനുള്ളില്‍ അധ്യാപകരോട് മാത്രമേ സംസാരിക്കൂ എന്ന് തീരുമാനിക്കുക.

2. മനസ്സിനെ ശാന്തമാക്കി വെയ്ക്കുക.

3. മാതാപിതാക്കളും നമ്മെ നാലോ അഞ്ചോ വയസ്സ് മുതല്‍ ഇന്നലെ വരെ പഠിപ്പിച്ച ഗുരുക്കന്മാരും മറ്റു പലരും നമ്മുടെ വളര്‍ച്ചക്ക്‌ സഹായിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്. അവരെയെല്ലാം നന്ദിയോടെ ഓര്‍ക്കാം.

4. സര്‍വ്വോപരി ഈശ്വരാനുഗ്രഹം തേടാം. നമ്മെ പോലെ തന്നെ അനേകര്‍ അതേ സമയം ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ ഇത്തരം പരീക്ഷയെ നേരിടുന്നണ്ടാവാം . അവര്‍ക്ക് വേണ്ടിയും പ്രാര്‍ഥിക്കാം.

5. കോപി അടിക്കുന്നത് മോഷണം തന്നെയാണ് . ആത്മാര്‍ഥമായി പഠിച്ചവരോടുള്ള അനീതിയാണ് . തെറ്റിന്റെ പാത വേണ്ട എന്ന് തീരുമാനിക്കുക . നമുക്ക് അറിയാവുന്നതിന്റെ മാര്‍ക്ക് മതി. കിട്ടുന്ന മാര്‍ക്ക് കോപി അടിക്കാതെ സ്വന്തമായി പഠിച്ചു നേടിയതാണെന്ന് അഭിമാനിക്കാമല്ലോ.

6. കൂട്ടുകാരെ സഹായിക്കുന്നത് പരീക്ഷാ ഹോളിനു വെളിയില്‍ മാത്രം. പരീക്ഷാ ഹോളിനുള്ളില്‍ അത് ചെയ്യുന്നത് തെറ്റാണ് . നമുക്ക് വലിയ സമയ നഷ്ടവും പിടിക്കപ്പെടുമോ എന്ന ടെന്‍ഷന്‍ നാം പഠിച്ചു വെച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത് മറന്നു പോകുവാനും ഇടയാക്കും .

7. ഫെയ്സിംഗ് ഷീറ്റില്‍ വിവരങ്ങള്‍ എല്ലാ ദിവസവും കൃത്യമായി തന്നെ രേഖപ്പെടുത്തണം . ആദ്യ ദിവസങ്ങളില്‍ അതൊക്കെ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുമെങ്കിലും പിന്നീട് അശ്രദ്ധ ഉണ്ടാവാന്‍ സാധ്യതയുണ്ട് . പ്രത്യേകിച്ചു രെജിസ്ടര്‍ നമ്പര്‍ .

8. കൂള്‍ ഓഫ് റ്റൈം ചോദ്യങ്ങളെ പരിചയപ്പെടുവാനും പ്ലാന്‍ ചെയ്യുവാനും ഉള്ളതാണ് . അധ്യാപകരുടെ കണ്ണ് വെട്ടിച്ചു ഉത്തരങ്ങള്‍ ചര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യരുത് .

9. ഉത്തരങ്ങള്‍ ക്രമാമായി എഴുതി പോകുന്നതാണ് നല്ലത് . ചോദ്യ പെയ്പറിനു നാലിലധികം പെയ്ജുകള്‍ ഉണ്ടാവുമല്ലോ ? ഉത്തരങ്ങള്‍ നമ്മുടെ സൗകര്യത്തിന് പല പേയ്ജുകളില്‍ നിന്നായി എഴുതുമ്പോള്‍ അത് നോക്കാനായി അധ്യാപകനും ചോദ്യ കടലാസിന്റെ പെയ്ജുകള്‍ പലവട്ടം മറിക്കേണ്ടതായി വരും. അത് ദേഷ്യത്തിന് കാരണമായേക്കാം. ആദ്യം മുതല്‍ എഴുതി പോവുക. ഒന്നും രണ്ടു എഴുതി. മൂന്നാമത്തെ ചോദ്യം അറിയില്ലെങ്കില്‍ സൈഡില്‍ ഒരു അടയാളം ഇട്ടിട്ട് അടുത്തതിലേക്ക് പോവുക. ഇങ്ങനെ അറിയില്ലാത്തത് തല്‍കാലം വിട്ടിട്ടു പോവുകയും അറിയാവുന്നതെല്ലാം എഴുതി കഴിയുമ്പോള്‍ ആദ്യം മുതല്‍ വിട്ടു കളഞ്ഞവയെല്ലാം ക്രമത്തില്‍ ഒരിക്കല്‍ കൂടി ശ്രമിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുക. അപ്പോള്‍ നമുക്കും നോക്കുന്ന ആള്‍ക്കും സൗകര്യപ്രദമാകും .

9. കഴിവതും വെട്ടും തിരുത്തും ഒഴിവാക്കുക. പ്രത്യേകിച്ച് ആദ്യ പെയ്ജില്‍. മോശമായ അഭിപ്രായം ആദ്യം തന്നെ ഉണ്ടാവാന്‍ ഇടയുണ്ട് . അഥവാ വെട്ടേണ്ടതായി വന്നാല്‍ ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ തവണ മാത്രം വെട്ടുക.

10. അഡീഷ്നല്‍ പെയ്പറുകള്‍ വാങ്ങിയാലുടന്‍ തന്നെ പെയ്ജ് നമ്പര്‍ ഇടും എന്ന് തീരുമാനിക്കുക . ആവശ്യത്തിനു മാര്‍ജിന്‍ എല്ലാ പെയ്പറിലും ഇടുവാന്‍ മറക്കരുത് . ചോദ്യത്തിന്റെ നമ്പര്‍ ഇടുവാന്‍ മാത്രമല്ല ഉത്തരം വാല്യൂ ചെയ്യുന്ന ടീച്ചര്‍ക്ക് മാര്‍ക്കിടുവാന്‍ ഉള്ള സ്ഥലവും വേണമല്ലോ ?

11. കുത്തിക്കെട്ടുന്ന ഭാഗം ഒഴിവാക്കി എഴുതുന്നതാണ് ബുദ്ധി. ഉത്തരത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ഭാഗം കേട്ടിനുള്ളിലായി മാര്‍ക്ക് പോകരുതല്ലോ..

12. ഓരോ ചോദ്യത്തിനും ആവശ്യമുള്ള സമയം മാത്രം ചിലവാക്കുക. ചില ചോദ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് അമിതമായി സമയം ചിലവാക്കിയാല്‍ മറ്റു ചിലതിനു സമയം തികയാതെ വരും.

13. പരീക്ഷ തീരുന്നതിന് അഞ്ചു മിനിറ്റ് മുമ്പെങ്കിലും എഴുതി തീര്‍ത്ത ശേഷം അറിയാവുന്നതെല്ലാം എഴുതിയെന്നും നമ്പറുകള്‍ മാറി പോയിട്ടില്ലെന്നും എല്ലാത്തിനും നമ്പര്‍ ഇട്ടുവെന്നും പെയ്ജുകള്‍ കൃത്യമായാണ് അടുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്നുമൊക്കെ ഉറപ്പാക്കണം.

14. പെട്ടന്ന് അഴിഞ്ഞു പോകുന്ന വിധത്തില്‍ നൂല്‍ കെട്ടരുത് .

പരീക്ഷക്ക്‌ ശേഷം

1. ഈശ്വരന് നന്ദി പറയുക. നമ്മുടെ പേരില്‍ മാത്രമല്ല. നമ്മെ പോലെ പരീക്ഷ എഴുതിയ ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിന്‌ കുട്ടികളുടെ പേരിലും...

2. ചര്‍ച്ചകള്‍ ഒഴിവാക്കി വീട്ടില്‍ പോകുന്നതാണ് ബുദ്ധി. കഴിഞ്ഞത് കഴിഞ്ഞു. ആ വിഷയത്തിന ഇനിയൊന്നും ചെയ്യാനാവില്ല. പറ്റിയ അബദ്ധങ്ങള്‍ അടുത്ത പരീക്ഷക്ക്‌ പറ്റാതെ നോക്കും എന്ന് തീരുമാനിക്കുക.

  This is a huge collection of almost all the possible questions; 150 from the prose and 162 from the poems in the Std. X English text book. This beautiful collection has been prepared for English Blog by my loving sister Renju who has been supporting me from the day I started this blog. As she too is an H.S.A. English our discussions in the evenings have contributed a lot for the development of this blog. Thank you dear on behalf of the teachers and students. I know the pain you have taken to prepare this post. (Though she was not good at typing she and her husband, a maths teacher, typed it all by themselves but when it was finished their child deleted everything and she had to start it from the beginning). നിര്‍ദ്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ അറിയിക്കാം... പരസ്പരം സഹായിക്കാം....

ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ഒരുക്കം മാത്സ് ബ്ലോഗില്‍ പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കപ്പെട്ടത് ജനുവരിയില്‍ ആണ്‌. മാത്സ് ബ്ലോഗില്‍ നിന്ന് ജോമോന്‍ സര്‍ പറഞ്ഞത് ജനുവരിയിലും ഫെബ്രുവരിയിലും പത്തു ലക്ഷത്തില്‍ കൂടുതല്‍ വിസിറ്റ് മാത്സ് ബ്ലോഗിനു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ്. പക്ഷെ വിചിത്രമായ ഒരു കാര്യം ആ പോസ്റ്റിനുള്ള കമന്റ്സ് 13 ല്‍ ഒതുങ്ങി എന്നതാണ്. 10,00,000  -> 13 .... അതില്‍ തന്നെ ഒരെണ്ണം ഹരി സാറിന്റെ ആയിരുന്നു. ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ബ്ലോഗില്‍ ഒരു കമന്റ് പോലും ഇല്ല. ഒരു ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം സന്ദര്‍ശകര്‍ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു താനും.. സംശയമുള്ളവര്‍ക്ക് ഇവിടെ ക്ലിക്ക് ചെയ്തു പരിശോധിക്കാം. കമന്റ്സ് ഇല്ലാത്തതിനു സ്ഥിരം പരാതി പറയുന്ന ആളാണ്‌ ഈയുള്ളവന്‍ എന്ന് മാത്സ് ബ്ലോഗിന്റെയും ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് ബ്ലോഗിന്റെയും സ്ഥിരം സന്ദര്‍ശകര്‍ക്കറിയാം.

            പക്ഷെ ഇത് എന്റെ മാത്രം പരാതിയല്ല ഹിന്ദി ഒരുക്കം ചെയ്ത മൂന്നു ബ്ലോഗര്‍മാരും തങ്ങളുടെ ബ്ലോഗുകളില്‍ ഇതേ സങ്കടം പങ്കു വെച്ചു കണ്ടു. അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞതിങ്ങനെ :
"ഇത്തരമെന്ന് പ്രസിദ്ധീകരിക്കണമെന്ന് ചില അദ്ധ്യാപകര്‍ ഫോണിലൂടെയും മറ്റും ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ഒരു പൊതു ആവശ്യമായി ഉയര്‍ന്നു വരാതിരുന്നതിനാല്‍ താത്പര്യം തോന്നിയില്ല. കമന്റുകള്‍ ചെയ്യുന്നവര്‍ മിക്കപ്പോഴും കൊള്ളാം, നന്നായിരിക്കുന്നു, അഭിനന്ദനങ്ങള്‍ എന്നൊക്കെമാത്രം പറയുന്നതും ഭയമുളവാക്കുന്നു. കാരണം വിമര്‍ശനങ്ങളില്ലെങ്ങില്‍ മെച്ചപ്പെടാനും തിരുത്തപ്പെടാനുമുള്ള അവസരങ്ങളാണ് ഇല്ലാതെയാകുന്നത്. എന്നാല്‍ ഒരു പത്താക്ലാസ്സ് വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥിയായ അശ്വന്ത് ഇട്ട കമന്റ് സന്തോഷം നല്കി എന്നു പറയാതെ വയ്യ.'പരീക്ഷയിലെ പുറത്തുനിന്നുള്ള കവിത ഇതിലുള്ളതായിരുന്നു. നല്ല ഉദ്യമം............' എന്നായിരുന്നു കമന്റ്. പ്രസ്തുത പഠനസാമഗ്രി ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്തി എന്നതിന്റെ ഉദാഹരണമായിരുന്നു ആ കമന്റ് ."

ഭക്ഷണം ഉണ്ടാക്കി വിളമ്പി വെയ്ക്കുന്ന അമ്മയ്ക്ക് പക്ഷെ അത് കഴിക്കുമ്പോളല്ല മറിച്ച് അത് കഴിച്ച് ഭര്‍ത്താവോ മക്കളോ തൃപ്തിപ്പെടുമ്പോള്‍ ആണ്‌ .... അഭിപ്രായം പറയുമ്പോള്‍ ആണ്... വയറു നിറയുന്നത്... ഞങ്ങളില്‍ ഭൂരിപക്ഷവും സ്വന്തം പണം മുടക്കി ആണ് ബ്ലോഗ് നടത്തുന്നത്. പരസ്യത്തിലൂടെ പണമുണ്ടാക്കാനുള്ള മാര്‍ഗ്ഗം അറിയാഞ്ഞിട്ടല്ല... വേണ്ട എന്ന് തീരുമാനിച്ചത് കൊണ്ടാണ്....

     പല ബ്ലോഗുകളുടെയും അവസ്ഥ വേദനാജനകമാണ്. മാത്സ് ബ്ലോഗിനു മാത്രമാണ് ഇത്രയെങ്കിലും കമന്റ്സ് കിട്ടുന്നത്. അതുമോര്‍ക്കണം ദിവസം അമ്പതിനായിരം സന്ദര്‍ശകരില്‍ അമ്പത് പേരൊക്കെ മാത്രമേ എന്തെങ്കിലും കമന്റ് ചെയ്യുന്നുള്ളൂ... പോസിറ്റീവ് റീ ഇന്‌ഫോഴ്സ്മെന്റ് കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക് കൊടുത്താല്‍ മാത്രമേ കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക്  വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും ചെയ്യാനുള്ള പ്രേരണ ഉണ്ടാവൂ എന്ന് ബി. എഡ് . ക്ലാസില്‍ പഠിച്ചത് മറന്നോ ? നമ്മളില്‍ എല്ലാം ഒരു കുട്ടിയില്ലേ ?

അത് കൊണ്ട് നല്ലത് കണ്ടാല്‍ നല്ലതെന്ന് പറയാന്‍ ശീലിക്കാം... പിഴവ് കണ്ടാല്‍ സൌമ്യമായി തിരുത്താം... നിര്‍ദ്ദേശങ്ങള്‍ അറിയിക്കാം...

    State Institute of English, Thrissur prepared a very useful material for SSLC English 2013 -  "The Finishing Touch". We got a copy of it from Sri. Abdul Jamal N.E., GHS, Thachangad, Kasaragod. Thank you dear sir.

      As it was a copy righted material English Blog sought the permission of SIE through of Mr. Ramdas (English Blog Team) but was denied permission. So we decided not to publish it. But last week many blogs published it and hence we are compelled to publish it in English Blog also without their permission. Hope my decision is right as there is no point in waiting.

        English Blog has always given preference to materials for the so called ' slow learners / weak students / below average students'. We believe it is they who need a helping hand more than anyone else. In most cases they are weak not because of their own fault. It might be the family or school or teachers or some other reason that made them so.

The Women - Please help to interpret ?

Sir,

   I am struggling to get the interpretation of the poem 'The Women' by Louise Bogan. It is very difficult for me to give the students line by line interpretation. Would you please suggest a source for it? What does the expression 'wilderness in women' suggest? I have my on interpretation. But I don't think it is ample enough. Let me seek a solution in this blog.
